Wifi Extender

After my TP-LINK N300 wireless extender started to fail, I decided it was time to upgrade to a more reliable wifi extender. One of the first websites I check for tech product reviews is The WireCutter.  I decided to purchase the NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Extender from their review. Overall I’ve been happy with the range and performance. I did have trouble with the first time setup because I was using my iPhone and couldn’t click some buttons. Once I tried from my laptop I was able to get everything setup. Read More

Logitech Harmony Companion

Do you want one remote to rule them all? Is your tv in another room then your cable boxes? If so, the Logitech Harmony Companion remote is for you.

The Logitech Harmony Companion comes with a wireless remote and a Harmony Hub. The Harmony Hub goes in your cabinet and will blast IR signals to all your devices. You can purchase it without the remote and just use the smart phone app, but I’d recommend getting the combo. Setting everything up is a bit complex but Logitech does a great job at stepping you through the process. I did have some trouble getting it to work with my hdmi splitter but once I found the correct model, everything worked. Read More

Syma X5SW Quadcopter Review

I have been a fan of the company Syma for quite some time. I currently own the Syma S107 and Syma X14. They have survived many crashes and still are flying. Recently I came across the Syma X5SW and was amazed at the price and FPV camera. So far I’ve been impressed. It has held up from several crashes, works well in medium winds and has good range. The camera is only 0.3 mp so don’t expect great quality. It has the ability to take pictures and record video but requires a smart phone. The videos and pictures save directly to your device. I also purchased several extra batteries which I highly recommend getting.
