Golf Swing Camera Support

This page covers support for Golf Swing Camera, the iPhone app I built for recording and reviewing golf swings.

If you need help, email [email protected]. If you are reporting a bug, include your iPhone model, iOS version, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and a screenshot if it helps.

Quick Setup

  • Use a physical iPhone with iOS 17 or newer
  • Give the app camera access so it can record swing video
  • Give the app microphone access if you want swing audio and impact cues
  • Set the phone behind you for down-the-line swings or in front of you for face-on swings
  • Keep your hands and club in the camera view
  • Use a tripod or stable mount when possible

Why Does The App Ask For Camera Access?

Golf Swing Camera needs the camera to record swing videos. Without camera access, the app cannot capture a swing.

Why Does The App Ask For Microphone Access?

The microphone is used to record audio with your swing videos and help confirm ball impact. If microphone access is not enabled, video recording can still be limited by iOS camera behavior.

Where Are My Swing Videos Stored?

Swing videos are stored locally on your iPhone. The app does not upload your videos to a cloud service.

Can I Import A Swing Video From Photos?

Yes. Open the library and use the import option to bring in an existing swing video from Photos.

Can I Share A Swing?

Yes. You can share a saved swing clip from the review screen. Depending on what you choose, you can share the original clip or an annotated version.

Why Did The App Miss A Swing?

Automatic capture depends on the phone position, lighting, and how clearly the golfer and club move inside the frame. Try moving the phone farther back, keeping your full body and hands visible, and making sure the camera is pointed at your setup position before you swing.

Why Does The App Tell Me To Aim The Camera Higher Or Lower?

The app checks the phone angle so it can capture a better swing view. Follow the on-screen prompt, then wait until the app says it is ready before swinging.

Does Golf Swing Camera Analyze My Swing?

Golf Swing Camera is focused on capture and review. It gives you slow-motion playback, frame stepping, markers, drawing tools, and sharing, but it is not a replacement for a golf coach.

Privacy

Golf Swing Camera is local first. You can read the full app-specific policy on the Golf Swing Camera Privacy Policy.
