TextEach Privacy Policy

TextEach is an iPhone app by Tim Leland. It helps you organize groups and send a separate text to each person through Apple’s Messages and Shortcuts apps. This policy describes TextEach 1.0.0. Last updated: October 28, 2026.

TextEach does not require a TextEach account and has no developer-operated messaging server. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. I do not receive your saved groups, contact list, message content, or attachments through the app.

What TextEach stores

TextEach saves the people you add, their phone numbers and any names or message fields you enter, groups, templates, drafts, selected photos and files, schedules, and the app’s sending history on your iPhone. It also stores settings and information needed to manage sending setup and interrupted attempts.

TextEach does not read your Messages conversations, incoming replies, or delivery receipts. Its history records the app’s own attempts and handoffs to Messages. A handoff is not proof that a message was delivered or read.

Contacts, photos, and files

You can type phone numbers manually, choose individual contacts through Apple’s picker, or review a CSV or Excel import. TextEach does not request access to your full address book. Only your final contact selections are shared with the app.

Apple’s photo picker shares only the photos you choose. When you select a file, TextEach saves a copy for use in your message. The app does not upload attachments to a public file-hosting service. If you choose to paste a shareable link, that link’s hosting service has its own privacy practices.

Private iCloud sync

Private iCloud sync is enabled by default when your Apple Account and iCloud are available. It keeps a copy of your saved people, groups, message fields, templates, drafts, attachments, schedules, and sending history in your Apple Account’s private CloudKit database. This lets TextEach restore your saved data on another iPhone using that account.

This is your private iCloud storage. I cannot browse the contents of your private CloudKit database. Apple provides the service under its iCloud terms and privacy policy.

You can turn sync off in TextEach → Settings → iCloud. Turning sync off stops future sync from that installation; it does not delete an existing iCloud copy. Sync may pause when your account or storage is unavailable. Purchases and sending setup are handled separately from synced app data.

Sending messages and notifications

When you send, the selected recipient’s number, message, and any chosen attachments are handed to Apple’s Messages app, either through Apple’s composer or the TextEach shortcut in Apple’s Shortcuts app. Messages, Apple, your carrier, and the recipient’s services handle the outgoing communication under their own terms and privacy policies. Your Messages settings determine the sender.

TextEach uses local notifications for reminders and, where supported and configured, to trigger a Shortcuts automation for a schedule. Notification text may be visible on your Lock Screen according to your iPhone’s notification settings. You control notification permissions in iPhone Settings.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases and subscriptions. TextEach uses Apple’s StoreKit purchase information to check Pro access and restore eligible purchases. I do not receive payment card details. Apple may provide sales and financial reports through its developer services; these do not give me your saved contacts or messages.

Subscriptions and refunds are managed through Apple. Restoring an app backup does not restore or create purchase entitlements.

Backups, exports, and sharing

Your device backup may include TextEach data according to your Apple settings. If you export a backup or CSV, or share an attachment, you choose the destination through iOS. Full app backups contain saved people, messages, attachments, and history. Exported backups and CSV files are not password protected. Keep them somewhere you trust.

The destination you choose may be another app, a cloud-storage provider, or another person. Their storage and privacy practices apply to the copy you share.

Retention and deletion

Saved app data stays on your iPhone and, when sync is enabled, in your private iCloud copy until you remove it. You can edit or delete saved people, groups, drafts, templates, schedules, and completed activity through the app. Some message snapshots and sending history may retain information from earlier attempts; deleting a group or a person does not erase messages already handed to Messages. Completed-activity cleanup retains available group handoff dates and the sent status of saved messages.

Removing TextEach deletes its local app data, but keeps its iCloud copy. To remove the cloud copy, use iPhone Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and manage TextEach’s stored data. Apple’s labels may vary by iOS version. Turn off sync on your devices if you do not want saved local data to be uploaded again.

Messages conversations, device backups, exported files, and copies held by recipients are managed separately. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use Apple’s subscription settings to cancel a subscription.

Support and this website

If you contact me at [email protected], I receive your email address and whatever information you choose to send. I use that information to reply and investigate the issue. Please leave out private phone numbers, message content, and attachments unless they are needed for your request. Email providers process that correspondence; support messages are kept as needed to handle the request and related follow-up. You can contact me to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any records I need to retain.

Opening a support, privacy, or other website link leaves the native app. The website’s hosting, logs, and other practices are separate from TextEach’s app data. See this site’s privacy policy for website details.

Changes and contact

I will update this page if TextEach’s privacy practices change. The date above identifies the current policy.
