My first experience with a fitness tracker was back in 2011 when I purchased the Jawbone Up band. Unfortunately it had some technical issues and I was able to return it. Besides the issues, I enjoyed it even though it lacked features such as bluetooth syncing and a display. Fast forward 5 years, I finally decided to try another fitness tracker.
I have several friends/family that own Fitbit’s. They seem to be the leading the social side of fitness trackers. I liked the features/design of the Fitbit Charge HR, but I was holding out for a larger screen and text notifications. About 3 weeks ago Fitbit released the Fitbit Charge 2. It has most of the features I was looking for.
- Large screen
- Heart rate monitor
- Great app with tons of charts and statistics
- Great battery life (5 days)
- Not waterproof
- Uncomfortable (to me) to sleep with
- Not always accurate
Overall I’ve really enjoyed my Fitbit Charge 2. It has motivated me to hit daily step goals and to be more active. I’ve started being conscious of parking further away to get more steps. I go for more runs after work to try reach 10,00 steps a day. If you work a desk job, I’d highly recommend getting a fitness tracker.
