How to use Chrome Extensions in Opera

Since Chrome, Firefox, Opera and the latest version of Edge are now using the same web extensions API, many extensions will now work cross-browser with little changes. In Opera, you can follow Opera’s guide for using Chrome extensions, which walks through installing the helper addon and then adding extensions from the Chrome Web Store. This makes it very easy to try extensions in Opera that have not officially been ported over to Opera. If you are an Opera fan you will defiantly want to try this out!

Steps

  1. Open Opera browser and follow Opera’s Install Chrome Extensions guide
  2. Then go to any extension in the Chrome Store
  3. Finally, click the “Add to Opera” button to install the extension
