I’ve been using a standing desk for over 5 years now and really enjoy being able to sit and stand throughout the day. There are many health benefits of a standing desk that I will not cover in this post, but I will say being able to stand and work has helped me stay healthy while working at a desk for extended periods of time.
Since working from home, I’ve needed more desk space for additional monitors. My previous standing desk was only 4 ft long and my 34″ monitor spanned almost the entire desk. Autonomous was kind enough to send me a desk to review.
Autonomous is a well-known company that has been around since 2015 focusing on the “smart office” primarily office chairs and standing desk. From my research, they make the most affordable standing desk on the market starting at $379. That is about half of what I paid for a similar desk 5 years ago. I decided to go with the SmartDesk 2 Premium XL with black legs and a walnut top which cost around $569. The XL is 70″ long which is perfect if you need more space for additional monitors. They also sell an L shaped desk for $739 which is another great option if you have space for it. Other companies sell L shaped desk for double that price. It pretty amazing how they are able to sell the best affordable standing desk at these prices.
The XL top comes with 2 grommets that are great for cable management. I recommend using a cable tray or zip ties to keep your cables neat under the desk.

Overall I am extremely happy with SmartDesk 2 Premium from Autonomous. I give it a 5 out of 5 compared to the other standing desk I have used. They make great products at affordable prices.
