Weather, Now on iPhone

Weather, Now on iPhone

People have been asking me for a native weather app for years. I finally decided to build it.

It’s called WeatherExt. If you use Weather Extension, this is the app to go along with it. The same idea that started with a temperature in my browser toolbar in 2015, now on my phone.

It looks a lot like the default iOS Weather app because I actually like Apple’s weather app.

The app has hourly and daily forecasts, interactive radar, animated skies, widgets, and an Apple Watch companion. I want it to be something you can open, get the weather, and get on with your day.

I’m also working on support for the new iPhone Duo. Here’s a short video of it opening up with the radar and forecast side by side.

There’s more I want to do. More accurate forecasts, better rain and weather alerts, and details that make sense for your location, like high and low tide times near the coast. That’s where I’m putting my time next.

You can install WeatherExt from the App Store. It’s free to download, with optional Pro subscriptions. I’d love to hear what you think and what you’d want me to add.
