How to Replace Honda Pilot Console Cup Holder (2009-2015)

Over time the Honda Pilot 2009-2015 cup holders wear out and start to fall apart. The insert is made of cheap foam that is not very well designed. Fortunately, the replacement foam is easy to replace and only takes a few minutes.

Simple Under Cabinet Lighting

Under-cabinet lighting can improve the functionality and look of your kitchen. With today’s LED light strips, installing them is a breeze. The most challenging part is finding the power to conceal your power plug. If you already have a plug inside your cabinets for your microwave or behind your fringe, using an existing outlet makes this a great DIY weekend project. If you have to add power inside a cabinet, you may need additional assistance.

I decided to use some affordable LED lights strips from Amazon. They had good reviews and multiple options on how they could be connected. In total, my kitchen took nine LED light strips. I also purchased three extra lights to use as replacements in the future if any of them go bad. This kit comes in soft white and daylight, so make sure you get the right color to match your existing lights. I also used an extension power plug to join lights over a gap.

Twitter Bot

For my new quote site, AtomicQuote, I wanted to add the ability for the site to auto-tweet the most popular quotes throughout the day. I ran into a few issues and wanted to write this post to hopefully help others who want to create an auto tweeting Twitter bot.

Twitter API

The first task was to sign up for a Twitter API account and check their documentation. Make sure you use the account your want to tweet from when you generate your keys. You will need a Key, Secret Key, Token, and Token Secret. Read More

New Google Meet Extension

In today’s remote workplace, often Google Meet is the primary way companies communicate. I often chat with a coworker then realize a video call would make it quicker to come to a solution. This usually involves opening a new Chrome tab, browsing to https://meet.google.com/, clicking on the new meeting button, copying the URL, and sharing the URL in chat. These few extra clicks gave me the idea to create a one-click solution using a Chrome Extension called New Room for Google Meet.

The extension is simple and does the work of creating a new Google Meet Room and copying it to your clipboard. Chrome extensions are great for small utility programs that enhance your web browser. If you are a Google Meet user, check out the extension and let me know if you have any additional ideas for features or similar tools. Pro tip: Google offers a few shortcut URLs for creating new Docs(docs.new), Sheet(sheet.new), Slides(slide.new), and Meet(meet.new).
